About Us

Cocotal Inn and Cabanas is located on Ambergris Caye, a barrier island off the coast of mainland Belize in Central America. We are less than 1/2 mile away from the second longest barrier reef in the world which runs 200 miles from southern Belize to Mexico. The location is ideal for diving, snorkeling and fishing, offering unlimited opportunity to get out on the crystal clear waters of the Western Caribbean.

Central to the property is a freshwater pool with an expansive coral stone deck for sunning, reading or just lounging.

Dining is a short beach walk away at several nearby restaurants. You can cook in your own kitchen, use our BBQ and pick up some Belizean "fast food" from local vendors, order pizza for delivery, or head to town for even more dining options. In Belize we have everything from street vendor food to fine dining - and you should try it all!

Excursions, dive/snorkel trips, fishing guides and mainland tours all pick up at our 200 ft pier. From here you can explore the island or other parts of Belize on day trips. Our kayaks and bicycles are available for your use at no charge.

There are several options for local transportation. Island sightseeing can be done most efficiently by golf cart. There are several golf cart company's where you can rent one. Bikes are complementary for guest use. 

Relax by the pool, take a mainland or island tour, ride a bike to town, take a kayak out and snorkel at the reef, or just unwind with a walk down the beach. It is all here for you to enjoy at Cocotal Inn and Cabanas.
